Abstract:

Stilling basin with shallow-water cushion (SBSWC) can make full advantages of water-cushion to reduce the velocity near the bottom of stilling basin effectively, redistribute the pressure beneficial to stability and safety, and improve the energy dissipation rate distribution compared with the conventional stilling basin. In this paper,LES was used to study the influences of the different angle of inflow on the flow regime, pressure,characteristics of fluctuating pressure of SBSWC. The fine LES calculation results indicate that the hydraulic characteristic of SBSWC can be influenced by the different angle of inflow.
